Individual Damage Reporting Resulting from Weather Conditions

YORK COUNTY REQUESTS DAMAGE REPORTS

There is expected to be widespread damage from last night's storm on 8/7/2023. York County Office of Emergency Management asks that residents share any damage incidents via the Individual Damage Reporter. Here's more information:

"Our individual damage reporter is available for residents to report their impacts to private property.

"The York County Individual Damage Reporting Tool provides residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations with the ability to report damage to their residence or place of business in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. This information helps disaster managers get an immediate Countywide damage "picture" within hours of a disaster event to help prioritize response efforts.  After the disaster event occurs and it is safe to venture outside, survey the damage to your home or business.

"NOTE: It is important to know that this is a damage reporting tool - it is not a means of requesting help or emergency services, or applying for any type of financial assistance. If you need immediate assistance to protect life and/or property, call 9-1-1.

"You only need to submit your information once. If you need assistance completing this form, contact the York County Office of Emergency Management at 717-840-2990 during regular business hours, M-F 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

"In no way does this form guarantee funding or assistance will be provided to you. County staff may contact you to ask questions or to follow up for more information. If an incident receives a Presidential disaster declaration, you may be asked to fill out required paperwork from assisting agencies, should you request assistance from them.

"Before you begin cleanup and repairs, take pictures of the damage. Also save receipts for any materials and repairs.

"We thank you for your participation in this valuable program."
