The following are the highlights of the Borough Council’s August’s meeting held on August 23, 2023. You can read supporting documents on most items of Council business by following links under “Agenda and Minutes” on the Borough website.
BOROUGH COUNCIL ACTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
PROCLAMATION: Mayor Whitman presented a proclamation for Rise Against Hunger in Hanover Days to Deb Smith on behalf of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
BUDGET CALENDAR: Approval was granted for the 2024 Budget Calendar.
PARKING REGULATIONS AMENDMENT: By roll call, approval was granted for Ordinance No. 2342 amending Parking regulations of Ordinance No. 938 as referenced in Chapter 254 of the Hanover Borough Code.
ADVERTISEMENT OF ORDINANCE: Approval was granted to advertise an ordinance to eliminate the loading/unloading zone at 304 Broadway.
ONLINE RENTAL REGISTRATION SURVEY: Approval was granted for staff to finalize the online rental registration survey as prepared by Lepson Research Group to begin data collection efforts.
EMPLOYEE TAKE HOME VEHICLE POLICY: Approval was granted to accept the amended Employee Take Home Vehicle Policy.
CHANGE ORDER FOR SHEPPARD-MYERS DAM REHABILITATION PROJECT CLOSEOUT: Authorization for payment of Change Orders No. 006 was tabled for reconsideration and Change Order No. 008 was approved.
FINANCIAL SECURITY RELEASE: Approval was granted for release of performance bond for Highpointe Residential Development Phases 2 & 3 located at Beck Mill Road and Tyler Drive for completed and inspected water system improvements.
TROLLEY TRAIL APPOINTEE: Approval was granted for Public Works Director Grimm for appointment to the Hanover Trolley Trail Operating Committee.
